Why do I need to register my line marking equipment?
Non-standard vehicles that need limited access to the road network can obtain conditional registration from the Transport Department to (a) access roads and zones, (b) get compulsory third party (CTP) insurance protection in the event of a crash on a road causing personal injury, and (c) determine the conditions for use of the vehicle to ensure safe operation while on a road.
In Queensland, it is illegal to drive a non-standard vehicle on the road without conditional registration. Aside from possible fines, you may also not be covered by insurance if the vehicle is involved in a crash.
